Tree Lighting Highlights B-Mets’ Season of Giving

BINGHAMTON, NY – With Christmas right around the corner, the Binghamton Mets are getting into the holiday spirit. They invite all fans to come down to NYSEG Stadium on Friday at 6 PM for their inaugural tree-lighting ceremony. The first 100 kids to see the largest Christmas tree in the Southern Tier will receive a free gift. In addition to several other giveaways, opening day tickets will be available for purchase on a “buy one, get one free” basis from 5-7 PM.
Fans can take care of the holiday shopping for every B-Mets fan in their family by visiting the B-Mets Merchandise Store at NYSEG Stadium during the tree lighting ceremony and throughout the winter. During the month of December, the store will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 AM to 5 PM, Thursdays from 9 AM to 7 PM, Fridays 9 AM to 8 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM to 6 PM.

With less than four months until the start of another thrilling season of Double-A baseball in the Southern Tier, things are beginning to heat up for the B-Mets. Fresh off their best season in franchise history, the B-Mets are happy to announce that tickets for Opening Day will go on sale this Thursday.
The B-Mets are proud to announce that ticket prices will stay the same as last year. Fans can purchase tickets for box seats for $11 and grandstand seats for $9. Children 14 and under and seniors 60 and over are eligible for a $2 discount.

During this Season of Giving, the B-Mets have teamed up with several local charities and will donate a percentage of merchandise sales throughout the month.

In addition to these donations, the team has joined forces with Toys for Tots to ensure all local children can have something to unwrap Christmas morning. The B-Mets invite all fans to the park on Saturday for a Toys for Tots drive at NYSEG Stadium. All fans that donate a new, unwrapped toy will receive two free tickets for the first Saturday game of 2014. Toys for Tots of Broome County will receive 20% of all merchandise sales that day. Plus, fans can have their picture taken with the Grinch from Noon to 2 PM.

Be sure to follow the B-Mets on Facebook, Twitter and at the team’s official website (www.bmets.com) for more team information. Fans can also stay up to date with all the action on the field by visiting “B-Mets Buzz with Tim Heiman” at bmets.mlblogs.com
