Minor League Player of The Night - DSL DELIGHT: Hanser Ortiz goes 6 for 6 with 5 RBIs. His teammate Wagner Lagrange goes 4 for 4, 4 runs scored (.377).


Honorable Mention - Two Binghamton Bangers: Michael Conforto 3 for 5, HR #3, .333. Eudy Pina, 4-5, .294, 3 RBIs. Vince Sienna 3 hits, .405.


AAA - Las Vegas - (45-34) 4 - Tacoma (39-40) 9

    RHSP Dillon Gee -   4.1-IP, 13-H, 8-R, 2-K, 2-BB, 13.50

What happened to Dillon Gee? Awful again. 13 outs, 13 hits.
With him, it was over almost before it started.


AA - Binghamton - (38-37) 10 - Erie (29-46) 5

    RHSP Robert Gsellman -  6 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 4 BB, 4 K, 4.39

See the two "honorable Mentions" above.  17 hit, 10 run attack as Binghamton not only breaks out of its slump...it scored 10 more than the parent club in Queens.

Gsellman nabs the win.  Akeel Morris bounces back with a scoreless 9th and 2 strikeouts. 


A+ - St. Lucie - (38-38) 2 - Tampa (36-39) 3

    RHSP Rob Whalen -   7.0-IP, 4-H, 2-R, 5-K, 4-BB, 3.18

After Lucie took a 2-0 lead in the 7th, Tampa broke through for 2 to tie bottom 7.  Kelly Secrest allowed the winning run to fall to 5-2.


A - Savannah - (40-35) 0 -Augusta (37-38) 6

    RHSP Ricky Knapp -   4.0-IP, 6-H, 5-R, 3-K, 3-BB, 2.11

Savannah was never in it, falling behind early.  Wuilmer Becerra and Eudor Garcia accounted for the Gnats' 4 hits, with 2 apiece.

Low-A  -  Brooklyn - (7-4) 2 - Auburn (6-5) 3

    LHSP Kevin Canelon  -    5.0-IP, 3-H, 2-R, 2-K, 2-BB, 8.59

Vince Sienna really enjoying the pro game: 3-4, .405. 

Reliever Jose Celas walked 4 tonight, making it 10 in 6.2 innings so far this year.

CF Kevin Kaczmarski hit a late game homer in a 1-0 thriller. KK is hitting .370.
