ABOUT LAST GAME: Columbia felt the wrath of Nationals prospect Juan Soto (3-for-3, 2B, HR, 6 RBI, 2 BB) on Tuesday, falling to the Suns, 9-3.Cannon Chadwick (1.2 IP, 0 ER, 2 K) and Carlos Hernandez (1.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 K) pitched well out of the bullpen for the Fireflies.

RED-HOT RAMPAGE: The start of the 2018 season continues to be a memorable one for second baseman Blake Tiberi. The 23-year-old still leads the South Atlantic League with 12 hits and a .480 batting average through six contests. Tiberi already has three three-hit performances.

RED-HOT RAMPAGE, Pt. II: Blake Tiberi has also reached base safely in all six games to begin the year

HIGHEST BATTING AVERAGE TO START A SEASON (THROUGH 6 GAMES), FRANCHISE HISTORY:
1. Blake Tiberi, 2018 — .480 (12-for-25), 1 HR, 4 RBI, 5 R
2. Vinny Siena, 2016 — .444 (8-for-18), 6 R, 5 BB, .542 OBP
3. Luis Carpio, 2017 — .381 (8-for-21), 7 R, 3 RBI, 6 BB, .536 OBP

CAN’T MISS: First baseman Jeremy Vasquez is back in the lineup for Columbia after an evening off on Tuesday. Vasquez has been to the plate 22 times and struck out just once. That’s the lowest strikeout rate in the league through six games. During his All-Sunshine State Conference year at Nova Southeastern in 2017, Vasquez struck out 36 times in 247 plate appearances—the equivalent of fanning just once every two games!

ROSTER MOVE: The Mets, Columbia’s parent club, transferred right-handed reliever Conner O’Neil to the disabled list and added righty Carlos Hernandez to the roster. The 23-year-old pitched a scoreless 9th inning on Tuesday just a few hours after arriving in the capital city.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Infielder Rigoberto Terrazas turns 22 today.

It would not hurt to turn a non prospect into one.

Was watching an SNY revid from 2001 Mets game last night. No, it did not take me the usual half hour to realize that it wasn't a current Mets game. Just fifteen minutes this time! Okay? LOL

Anyway,I recall liking that 2001 team. It had Todd Zeile, Robin Ventura, The Pizza Man Mike, Jay Payton, and Mike Hampton...But I have to say this now, that 2001 NYM team ain't half as good as this current 2018 one! Can quote me here.

Okay, enough baseball for now. Let's talk Diabetes, shall we...

There are approximately 381 million diabetic sufferers worldwide still alive. Not much has come forth to help. So, I have this idea, Bitter Melon (bitter gourd). Study this if you have reason to, or are very bored in your life too.

It basically is a green fruit that looks like a cucumber with bumps on it. In Ohtani Japan (he's the reincarnate Babe Ruth without the weight issue and penchant for bar shots) Bitter Melon is used for everything from High Blood Pressure and Cholesterol (although in real life terminology it really isn't the high cholesterol but rather the high triglycerides that actually causes heart disease.) But please do not try to wakeup your brilliant 200 year old doctor on this factoid. He won't understand.) to balancing hormone levels, fighting off glaucoma and malaria (dang mosquitoes again), kidney stones, detox liver (your liver being pretty much the only major organ you have that yes can actually rejuvenate itself back to good health if you stop drinking like WC Fields) and boost energy (naturally).

These Bitter Melon plants grow primarily in humid and warm parts of the world like Asia, and South America. They are used to uptick blood glucose levels by the liver, fatty tissues, and muscles thus stimulating them to convert glucose into glycogen, its storage form.

Diabetic Type 2 people are insulin independent, often by family genetics. This Bitter Melon (Bitter Gourd), according to Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, helps to reverse a person (with Diabetes Type 2) resistance.

Here's the website, read for yourself. At your favorite search engine: type in...off the grid news - bitter melon. Okay. There. Help someone. Research.

Forgot this...

Where to get this Bitter Melon. My best answer would be Asian Grocery Markets. Asians are smart and they know things. I tried to get the Bitter Melons into Walmart, but the young produce buyer there was, well, how do I say this nicely? Oh crap, I can't, "a sort of genius type pencil head, if you will."

There are also Bitter Melon capsule supplements at some Health Food Stores. Can look online. But I have not ever tried these Bitter Melon supplements and do not pretend to have. Again, use your own discretion and ask your doctor for advice.

Every medicine, prescription, and supplement can and often do have side effects. So due diligence here. Do your studying online first always! Most doctors usually only know medications they have used often before in treatment, the ones that work, and then too pharmaceutical sales reps who have provided data to them. You know, the pharmaceutical medications that promise the world at your feet, with television commercials with naked gorgeous women running through fields of asperagus and poppies with their wind blown hair backlit by a gorgeous blue sky and inviting sunset. You know! But be smart about it always.

On the recent Plawecki injury...

I've got a friend who can give Kevin a robotic hand if case need be. He is a garage type surgeon and his rates are exceedingly cheap.

Anyway, I am a big Plawecki fan and this injury is a shame. No part of the body heals quicker than the hands. So, he should be back in July maybe? April with the robotics hand though? Looks like a seagulls claw.

Reese...I am cool with Nido and Lobotomy backing him up, just not too closely. Hey, sink or swim Tomas, why not. Have to push the babies out of the nest sooner or later. I think he'll fly high! Would bet on the kid. And I have watched vid on Lobotomy and he's fine backing up Nido. After that, I still have my old jockstrap around here somewhere. Washed it once, but 35 years ago I think it was.

No one is perfect.

Go with Tomas Nido and Lobotomy. The way this team hits, it won't matter because these boys can hit here! They'll be fine.
