LAST GAME: The B-Mets beat Akron, 4-3, Friday night at Canal park for their fourth straight win against the RubberDucks. All seven runs were scored in the first three innings. Akron put up three runs on five hits in the second, being held to four hits and no runs in the other eight frames. Luis Cessa got the win, allowed three runs in six innings. Jon Velasquez notched his sixth save of the year in his first appearance back with the B-Mets. He combined with Matt Koch and Dario Alvarez to toss three scoreless innings out of the bullpen. The three combined to allow two baserunners and struck out three. Xorge Carrillo drove in two runs, while Jared King had three hits. All four B-Mets runs were scored with two outs in an inning.

BINGHAMTON STARTERRHP Michael Fulmer makes his second start with the Binghamton Mets and the first of his career against Akron. The righty allowed three runs and six hits over five innings pitched against the Fisher Cats in his 2015 B-Mets debut. Fulmer did not factor into the decision. His only other appearance of the season came with St. Lucie (High-A), when he allowed three runs in seven innings, while striking out nine in a losing effort. The righty made one start with Binghamton last season, when he was touched up for six runs in 3.1 innings against Erie. Fulmer has ended the past two seasons on the disabled list.

AKRON STARTER: RHP Cody Anderson is making his sixth start of the season and second against Binghamton. In his first start of the year, he held the B-Mets to one run and three hits over 6.1 innings pitched in a losing effort. His last two starts have both come against Bowie. Anderson lasted just an inning last time out before a 79-minute rain delay ended his night. Anderson has thrown 20 pitches in a game since April 26. He has allowed one earned run in 12 innings pitched at home this season. This is Anderson’s third year with Akron.  

VS. AKRON: The B-Mets have won their last four games against Akron, holding the RubberDucks to five total runs. Akron is hitting .151 in the four losses. Binghamton is 11-1 in the last 12 games against Akron, dating back to June 10, 2014.

NIMMO’S KRYPTONITE: Brandon Nimmo is 1-for-21 against Akron pitching this season, with seven strikeouts. The lone hit was his first home run of the season. Nimmo has walked once in 22 plate appearances again the RubberDucks. The outfielder is batting .300 against the rest of the league.

GRAND THEFT: The B-Mets are 10 for 12 in stolen bases over their last 14 games. This was preceded by a 2-for-11 stretch. The B-Mets have the sixth fewest steals in the EL. 

SEVEN UP: Friday was the ninth time Aderlin Rodriguez has hit higher than sixth in the lineup since the start of the 2013 season. It was the first time since he hit seventh, July 18, 2014 with St. Lucie (High-A). A-Rod is hitting .147 since beginning the season on a six-game hitting streak.

LEADERBOARD: Josh Rodriguez leads the league in home runs (6) and is tied for the lead with 22 RBI. J-Rod is also eighth in batting average (.333) and third in slugging (.595) and on-base (.424) percentage. Rodriguez leads the league in at-bats per home run, averaging a long ball every 14 at-bats.

ONE RUN: Four of Binghamton’s last five wins have been by one run. It’s their most one run wins in a five win span, since doing the same from August 14-August 19, 2013. In total, the B-Mets are 8-3 in one run games this season. Binghamton was 20-16 in one run games last season, losing their last three of the regular season.
